St. Paul, Minn. - The Polars football team took on the Northwestern Eagles on Saturday and fell by a score of 69-14.
After two Crown turnovers the Eagles jumped out in front of Crown early with a 34-0 lead. The Polars got on the scoreboard early in the second quarter after a three minute drive and a 6 yard touchdown run from freshman quarterback
Zach Brown. From that point Northwestern scored 35 unanswered points before Crown got back on the scoreboard with a passing touchdown from Brown to
Seth Medina. The final score read 69-14 in favor of Northwestern.
The Crown run game was highlighted by
Donovan Soloman who notched 31 carries for 153 rushing yards. Quarterback
Zach Brown rushed the ball 17 times for 80 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Logan Disabella led the defensive effort with 5 tackles.
The Polars fall to 0-4 on the season and 0-1 in UMAC play and will return home next week to face off with the Martin Luther College Knights at 1pm on Saturday, October 12th.
