ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. --- On a gusty day at Old National Bank Stadium, the Crown College football team struggled against the second-highest ranked team in the UMAC on Saturday. Crown was defeated by the Greenville Panthers 32-6.
Sophomore running back Avory Caruthers had a big game on the ground, averaging 5.9 yards per carry after gaining 95 yards on 16 attempts. First-year back Ameer Lee had the Storm's lone touchdown in the contest, a 14-yard run in the fourth quarter. Sophomore quarterback Jared Gilmore once again broke the record for pass attempts in a game, with 54 in the contest. He threw for a total of 242 yards. First-year receiver Cole Mistretta had eleven receptions for 129 yards to lead all Storm receivers.
Defensively, first-year linebacker Junior Doe had an incredible game with 15 tackles, .5 tackles for loss, a fumble forced and recovered. Junior defensive lineman Micah Moyer had two tackles for loss including a solo sack, and nine total tackles in the game and senior defensive lineman Joe Duffy had a tackle for a loss and nine total tackles. Senior Sebastian Alvarado and sophomore Quis Icon both recorded blocked extra points.
The Storm now look towards next Saturday where they head to face Westminster College in Fulton, Mo.
