The Storm's struggle from the plate continued against the Carleton Knights as they fell in a close game 4-0 on Monday.  The Knights were able to convert their six hits into four runs while the Storm could not convert any of their five hits into runs as they stranded seven runners.  In addition, Crown's three errors led to three unearned runs for Carleton.  Cearra Dulaney took the loss pitching a pretty good game getting the Knights to hit into 17 combined forceouts and groundouts.  Offensively, Cassidy Valenzuela continued her strong start to the season going two for three from the plate.  The sophomore centerfielder is batting over .500 on the season right now.

Cassidy Valenzuela opened up a nice lead in the top of the second inning hitting a bases clearing double to push Crown's lead to 4-0.  The Blugolds answered with two runs in the bottom of the third to make the game 4-2 in favor of Crown.  Moriah Sawyer later singled in the fourth inning to bring in Kate McLaughlin for an insurance run to make the score 5-2.  Crown would hold off the Blugolds the rest of the way on the arm of Cearry Dulaney for the win.  Sawyer had two hits on the day while Valenzuela led in RBIs.

Dakota Wesleyan

In their final game for the trip, Crown took on NAIA member Dakota Wesleyan.  Crown took a 3-0 lead in the top of the third inning on three seperate hits before the Tigers answered with four runs of their own in the bottom of the third.  The Tigers tacked on two more runs in the fifth as Crown did not score again for a 6-3 final score in favor of Dakota Wesleyan.  Liz King had two hits and pitched as well striking out three over the course of the game.  Crown played statistically identical to Dakota Wesleyan with the exception of stranding six runners on base as the Tigers only stranded three proving the difference.
