Crown Sweeps Jacks, Loses to Saints

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 St. Bonifacius, Minn. - The Crown College women's basketball program picked up another win over the weekend, with all three wins coming in the UMAC conference.  Crown swept the two game series with the Northland College Lumberjills by beating them 50-43 on Friday night.  Crown hoped to follow that win with an upset over the Saints but came out flat and lost by a final score of 69-30.
 
NC – Crown found themselves down seven at the half as they committed 17 turnovers and only had 7 made baskets.  Luckily, Crown found their way out of the poor first half performance and took the lead for good with 7:19 left in the second half on a Desiree Davis "and one" layup.
 
Crown was led by Davis with 14 points and five steals while Jessica Klaustermeier chipped in 10 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
 
CSS – Crown found themselves down early and often in this game where the Saints came out to play shooting 57.1% in the first half and 11-11 from the free throw line.  Crown played much better in the second half but to no avail as the Saints cruised on that first half lead.
 
Crown committed 28 turnovers and only had three assists as they were outplayed in almost every statistical category.  They were also outscored 42-12 in the paint.
