St. Bonifacius, MN - Four softball seniors honored before 14-2 victory on Friday afternoon.
Following the senior day ceremony to celebrate the four seniors and their impressive careers, they led the way for the Polars. Seniors,
Emmy Romportl,
Catelyn Garza,
Maria Lilienthal, and
Itzel Valles, kick-started the offense in the bottom of the 1st. After a 4-run 1st inning, Lilienthal singled in Romportl to make it 5-0. Rams scored 1 run in the top of the 3rd, but the Polars broke through with a 9-run bottom of the 3rd. Romportl finished the day with 3 hits, 3 runs, and an RBI while throwing 4 innings in the circle, striking out 6. Garza reached base safely three separate times and scored twice. Lilienthal and Valles had a pair of hits and RBIs. Outside of the seniors,
Sophie Monsman had a big day at the plate, with 2 big hits that plated 3 runs.Â
Polars earned their 16th win of the season with the 14-2 win. They will play at 10am and 12pm against the Rams at home tomorrow to finish the series.
