Ocker's Walk-off Sparks Softball Sweep

Naples, FL - Crown softball wraps up spring break trip with two more wins.

Game 1 vs St. Joseph's - Brooklyn Riley started in the circle for the Polars. The first two innings went smoothly for both teams, leading to a 0-0 tie into the 3rd. The Bears got 3 runs on the board first with a double and single. Crown answered right back with an RBI double from Maria Lilienthal. Itzel Valles followed it up in the 4th with a 2-run double, followed by a Lindsey Stapleton single to put the Polars up 5-3. The heart of the order struck again in the 6th with back to back doubles from Valles and Stapleton. Brooklyn Ocker and Savanna Gumowski joined in with a couple RBI singles. This would stretch the lead to 9-3. The Bears clawed back in the top of the 7th to tie it, but Ocker came through in the clutch with an RBI single to plate Lilienthal and walk it off. This gave Riley another win, pushing her to 7-0 to start the season.

Game 2 vs Lesley University - The ball was given to Emmy Romportl to pitch for the Polars in game two. The Polars would go on to score 9 runs before Lesley answered with their lone run in the 4th. Crown scrapped together 6 more runs to end the game in 5 innings with a score of 15-1. Sophie Monsman had a huge game at the plate, totaling 3 hits and 4 RBIs for the freshman center fielder. Seniors, Lilienthal and Valles added on to their monster days in the box with another pair of RBIs.
