Minneapolis, MN - Crown softball splits dome doubleheader, resulting in a 3-1 weekend.
Game 1 vs River Falls -
Lindsey Stapleton entered the circle for game one of the doubleheader versus River Falls. The Falcons got on the board in the early innings, taking a 3-0 lead. Polars rallied with 3 runs of their own in the top of the 4th, before River Falls responded with another run to retake the lead. After that, it was all Crown. Polars added 4 more runs to pull away and seal the 8-4 win.
Brooklyn Ocker led the way offensively with 3 RBIs. It was
Brooklyn Riley who took the win for the Polars. She finished the last 4 innings strong, only giving up 2 hits and striking out 4.
Game 2 vs Augsburg - Senior pitcher
Emmy Romportl entered the circle in game two. The senior settled in after a 4 run 2nd inning and gave them 5 more strong innings. Another senior led the way offensively.
Maria Lilienthal tacked on another 4 RBIs to her impressive start to the season. Ocker added a double to her great day at the plate. Polars fell just short in the 7th, dropping the final game 5-6.
Softball will fly down to Florida for their spring break trip on the 10th.
