Minneapolis, MN - Stapleton's two homers lead to offensive outburst. Softball takes two games on Friday.
Game 1 vs UW River Falls -
Lindsey Stapleton got the scoring started in the 2nd with a laser solo shot to center field. Fellow freshman, Brooklyn Oker pitched for the Polars. River Falls came back with 2 runs in the top of the 3rd before the Polars answered with a 9-run 3rd inning. Falcons would tack on 3 more runs late, but the Pilars held on to the 10-5 victory.
Maria Lilienthal tallied 4 RBIs to surpass 100 career RBIs.
Game 2 vs Augsburg -
Brooklyn Riley commanded the circle for the Polars. After a run scored in the 1st inning, Stapleton hit another homer to the opposite field to spark a 4-run 2nd inning. Augsburg's two-run home run was the only offense for the Auggies. Lilienthal tallied yet another 4 RBIs on 3 hits in game two. Polars went on to win 12-2 in 5 innings.
Softball returns to the Augsburg Dome tomorrow morning to play River Falls and Augsburg once again back-to-back.
