Polars Win Second Game in a Row at Home 50-47

St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The women's basketball team hosted the University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets on Wednesday night, earning their second consecutive victory and second conference win of the season with a 50-47 result.

Defense set the tone early, as the Polars held a 12-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter followed a similar script, with Crown narrowly outscoring Superior 13-10 but trailing 22-20 at halftime.

Crown came out of the break with momentum, opening the third quarter on a 12-0 run and building a lead of as many as 10 points. The Yellowjackets responded late in the period, trimming the deficit to just one point heading into the final quarter. After a back-and-forth start to the fourth, the Polars extended their lead to seven. Superior battled back to tie the game with under a minute remaining, but Crown's defense held the Yellowjackets scoreless down the stretch. The Polars converted three free throws in the final minute to secure the 50-47 victory.

Brayli Reimer led all scorers with 23 points while adding six rebounds, five assists, a steal, and a block in an all-around performance. Sydney Cotten contributed seven points on 2-of-4 shooting, grabbed 10 rebounds, and recorded a steal. As a team, the Polars shot 40% from the floor—10 percentage points higher than Superior.

The Polars will close out the regular season at home on Saturday against Northwestern. They will then compete in the NCCAA Regional Tournament March 2–4, followed by the NCCAA National Tournament March 11–14, hosted by Crown College.
