Polars Make History! Volleyball Clinches First-Ever Playoff Berth

New Ulm, MN — Crown volleyball etched its name into the program's history books on Saturday, sweeping Martin Luther College in straight sets to clinch the first playoff berth in program history and cap off a Super Saturday for Polar athletics.

Traveling south to New Ulm with a postseason spot on the line, the Polars delivered exactly the kind of complete team performance the moment called for. Crown controlled all three sets, taking down the Knights 25-14, 25-18, and 25-20 in a dominant road showing that will be remembered for years to come.

The win was powered by contributions all across the roster.

Lily Duquaine continued her outstanding freshman campaign with another all-around performance, finishing with 9 kills and 14 digs to pace the Polars on both ends of the floor. Delaney Boone was a force in the middle, putting up 8 kills, 6 blocks, and 2 assists while anchoring the Crown front row with a wall-like presence.

From the setter position, Faith Sperl orchestrated the Crown offense with 18 assists while also contributing 11 digs defensively, delivering a double-double performance on the night history was made.

With the sweep, Crown officially punches its ticket to the UMAC postseason for the first time ever, a milestone moment for a program that has worked tirelessly to reach this point.

The Polars will have one more opportunity to compete in the regular season, returning home to host UW-Superior on White Out Night before postseason play begins.
