Superior, Wisc. – The Polars traveled to the University of Wisconsin–Superior on Wednesday night, falling by a score of 47–74.
The Polars got off to a hot start offensively and led for much of the first quarter behind strong shooting from Avery Youngblood, but a late three-pointer by the Yellowjackets gave them a 19–16 lead at the end of the opening frame. Superior began to pull away in the second quarter, taking a 35–21 lead into halftime.
The third quarter mirrored the second as the Yellowjackets continued to extend their advantage, but the fourth quarter was nearly even in scoring as the Polars showed resilience in their effort.
Crown welcomed back its leading scorer after she missed a handful of games, as Brayli Reimer came off the bench to lead the team with 18 points while adding three rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Youngblood and Morgan Bednarek also contributed eight points apiece, with Bednarek pulling down six rebounds.
The Polars return home on Saturday to host Bethany Lutheran at 1:00 p.m.
