Box Score 2 St. Bonifacius, MN - The Crown College volleyball team kicked off the Minneapolis Invite in dominant fashion, securing their first official win of the season and sweeping both matches on the opening day, including a strong showing in an early scrimmage.
The Polars opened the day with a 3-0 sweep in a scrimmage against Free Lutheran Bible College, setting the tone with confident play and consistent execution.
In the nightcap, Crown faced Great Lakes Christian College, who had just wrapped up a match against Free Lutheran. The first set saw a series of momentum swings, but the Polars pulled away late to take it 25-17. The second set started evenly at 6-6 before Crown exploded for a 7-point run, followed shortly by a dominant 9-point stretch to seal a 25-10 win. Riding that momentum, the Polars closed out the match with a commanding 25-6 victory in the third set. A well-rounded team effort fueled the sweep, with strong play on both sides of the ball.
Crown looks to keep the momentum going tomorrow with two more matches against Trinity Bible College and Faith Baptist.
