Collegeville, MN – The Polars were unable to overcome a strong Saint John's University team, falling in their first road match of the season.
Following a gritty season-opening draw at home against UW-Stout, the Polars hit the road to take on Saint John's. The Johnnies struck early, with James Torguson finding the back of the net in the 12th minute. Just before halftime, Roman O'Connor doubled the lead with a goal in the 44th minute, giving Saint John's key momentum heading into the break. The second half opened with a flurry of offense, as the teams netted three goals in the first 10 minutes. Alex Bowman added to the tally, while O'Connor notched his second of the match. The Polars' lone goal came from freshman forward Noah Feneis, who capitalized on a scoring chance to get his team on the board.
Men's soccer will aim to rebound during a weekend road trip to Iowa, where they'll face Faith Baptist on Friday and Coe College on Saturday.
