Ankeny, IA — The Crown College Polars kicked off their weekend road trip with a 1-1 draw against Faith Baptist on Friday afternoon.
Faith Baptist struck early, finding the net in the 11th minute thanks to a goal from Austin Lundberg. The Polars responded shortly after halftime, as Marcus Banegas leveled the score with an unassisted effort.
From there, it became a defensive battle. Crown's back line tightened up in the second half, holding Faith Baptist without a single shot attempt for the remainder of the match. Despite several efforts on both ends, neither side could break the deadlock before the final whistle.
The Polars move to another tough test tomorrow as they head to Cedar Rapids to take on Coe College at 3:30 p.m., following the women's match earlier in the day.
