St. Bonifcaius, MN - Men's soccer starts off the conference season with impressive 9-2 win versus the Knights.
Both teams came out firing, each finding the back of the net within the first seven minutes. Crown would strike twice more before the halftime break, with Gael Miteo joining Ashton Hosler on the score sheet to take a 3-1 lead into the locker room. Right out of halftime, Hosler wasted no time, completing his hat trick early in the second half. The Knights responded in the 67th minute to narrow the gap to 4-2, but it was all Polars from there. Crown poured on five unanswered goals to close out the match, including a fourth from Hosler, tying the program's single-game goal record. Isaac Shulz, Alan Montano, Juan Fernando Arriaga, and Omar Navarro each recorded their first goals of the season in the offensive onslaught.
With the win, the Polars open conference play 1-0. They'll return to action on Saturday, hosting UW-Superior at 4:15 PM.
