Box Score St. Bonifacius, Minn. - The Polars lost 45-7 in their home opener against the Simpson College Storm.

An early Polars turnover deep in their own territory led to a touchdown for the Storm, and put the score at 7-0 after the first quarter. The Storm would get 10 more in the second quarter bringing their halftime lead to 17-0. One more touchdown in the third and another shutout quarter for the Storm made the score 24-0 through 3 quarters. 21 more unanswered points to start the fourth quarter nearly doubled the Storm lead with under 3 minutes to play. The Polars would get on the board late in the fourth quarter with a Donovan Soloman 7-yard touchdown run, which was set up by a 78-yard run from Quarterback Jamarrius Courtney on the first play of the drive. Simpson would run out the final two minutes of the clock, and would defeat the Polars by a score of 45-7. 

Notable stat lines from today came from Jamarrius Courtney and Donavan Soloman on the offensive side, and Jaylen Gray and Luke Johnson on the defensive side. The Polars were rush heavy, throwing the ball 9 times while rushing it 31. Between designed runs and scrambles, Jamarrius Courtney ran 15 times for 173 total yards, averaging 11.5 yards per carry. Donovan Soloman ran 18 times for 49 total yards and was the teams leading receiver. Jaylen Gray led the team in tackles with 11. Luke Johnson was right there as well with 8, and Eddie Hallowanger had 7 total tackles. Rudy Criner also had five tackles, one of those being a tackle for loss. Crider was also impactful in special teams, returning 5 kicks for 141 total yards, one of which went for 40 yards. 

The Polars play another UMAC opponent next week as they host the University of Minnesota Morris at 12:00pm at Old National Bank Stadium on the campus here at Crown College.
