Softball Drops Three Game Series to Yellowjackets

Maple Grove, MN - The Polars softball team faced off with UW-Superior this weekend and fell in all three games by scores of 7-5, 24-3, and 10-2.

Game one on Friday afternoon saw the Polars take the lead in the bottom of the 1st inning after a Maria Lilienthal putting Crown out in front 2-0. The Yellowjackets answered taking the 4-2 lead after three innings of play. A couple of hits from Kaylee Fude and Maliya Martinez gave Crown the 5-4 lead after the 4th inning. UW-Superior answered in the 6th and 7th to take the 7-5 victory.

The second game didn't go the Polars way as Crown fell in five innings. The third game of the series saw the Yellowjackets jump out in front early and hold on to win 10-2 after 6 innings of play. Maria Lilienthal, Emmy Romportl, and Itzel Valles all had multiple hits across the series.
