Romportl Totals 4 Hits, Crown Defeats Martin Luther 7-1

New Ulm, Minn. - The Polars softball team faced off with Martin Luther on Friday night and came out on top 7-1.

After a couple of hits from Emmy Romportl, Maria Lilienthal, and Itzel Valles Crown took a 1-0 lead after 3 innings of play. Romportl knocked in two more runs with a double in the 4th inning and Kya Oakes drove in a run off a sacrifice fly in the 5th as the Polars rolled to a 7-1 victory.

Romportl pitched a complete game allowing just 4 hits and 1 earned run in the circle. Romportl also went 4-5 at the plate totaling 3 RBI's. Katie Vaughan, Itzel Valles, and Morgan Aylsworth all tallied 2 hits in the contest. 

Crown moves to 14-18 on the season and 5-8 in UMAC play and will return to New Ulm tomorrow for a doubleheader with the Knights starting at 1pm.
