Moorhead, Minn. - The Polars baseball team traveled to face off with Concordia Moorhead on Tuesday and fell by a score of 12-2.
Crown got on the scoreboard first after an RBI single from
Tyler Bloom driving in
Drew Girtz. The Cobbers answered back in the first few innings pushing across six unearned runs in the first inning and they took the 10-1 lead heading into the 5th inning. A
Kyler Thruston RBI single knocked in
Louis Garcia but the Polars were unable to add any more runs as they fell 12-2 after seven innings of play.
Girtz went 2-4 to lead the offensive effort. Crown ended up pitching by committee in the game with four different pitchers seeing the mound.
John Brew threw 1 inning,
Mitchell Cox pitched 2.1 innings,
Quentin Holmes pitched 2.2 innings, and
Brett Torbeck pitched a third of an inning.
The Polars fall to 16-14 on the season and will next return home for a three game series against Martin Luther starting on Friday, April 25th at 6pm.
