St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Polars softball team faced off with Bethany Lutheran College in a doubleheader on Saturday and fell 9-1 and 8-0.
Game one saw the Vikings push out in front 3-0 after the first inning. Crown pushed a run across in the bottom half of the 4
th inning after hits from
Katie Vaughan and
Maria Lilienthal cutting the Bethany Lutheran lead to 4-1. The Vikings went on to win 9-1 after 5 innings of play. Crown totaled just 3 hits on the game as a team.
Emmy Romportl pitched all 5 innings in the circle.
Game two saw the Vikings jump out to a 1-0 lead and extend that lead in the top of the 4
th inning to 2-0. Crown was held without a hit in the contest and fell by a score of 8-0 in 6 innings.
Crown falls to 11-18 on the season and 4-8 in UMAC play and will next return home to take on Maranatha Baptist on Saturday, April 19
th in a doubleheader starting at 12pm.
