St. Bonifacius, Minn. - The Polars softball team faced off with Bethany Lutheran on Friday evening and fell 9-0.
Both teams were scoreless through two innings until the Vikings pushed across a couple of runs to take the 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the 3rd inning. Crown loaded the bases with three straight singles in the bottom of the 4th inning but was unable to push across any runs. Bethany Lutheran scored six runs in the 7th and the Polars dropped the game 9-0.
Emmy Romportl pitched all 7 innings and allowed just 4 earned runs with 4 strikeouts. Crown totaled 5 hits as a team.
The Polars fall to 11-16 on the season and 4-6 in UMAC play and will finish the three game series with the Vikings tomorrow April 12th with a doubleheader starting at 1pm.
