Maple Grove, Minn. - The Polars softball team faced off with North Central in a doubleheader on Friday afternoon and came out on top 10-1 and 11-2.
Crown jumped out in front early and rolled to the 10-1 victory after totaling 12 hits in the game.
Abbie Carroll pitched a 1 hit shut out and a complete game in the five innings totaling 4 strikeouts. Four different Polars totaled two hits with those being
Katie Vaughan, Maria Liliethal,
Kaylee Fude, and
Morgan Aylsworth.
Game two saw both teams score one run in the first inning and a big third innings pushed Crown out in front 6-1. The Polars continued to pile on the score and came out on top 11-2.
Emmy Romportl pitched all 6 innings and allowed just two earned runs in the contest. Vaughan, Fude, and
Itzel Valles all had two hits.
The Polars move to 9-12 on the season and 4-2 in conference play and will next return home for a three game series with UW-Superior starting on Friday, April 4th at 4pm.
