Orlando, FL - The Polars men's and women's tennis teams faced off with WestConn and St. Norbert on Tuesday. The men went a combined 0-2 and the women went 1-1 in the two matches.
Singles play in the first match of the day for the Polars women was the difference as Crown won the #3, #4, #5, and #6 singles matchups.
Annie Doyle won 6-1 and 6-4 in the #3 singles match.
Amanda Helser won 6-2 and 6-2 in the #4 singles match.
Marissa Otremba won the #5 singles match 6-0 and 6-1.
Elyse Steffen rounded out singles play with a 6-1 and 6-1 win in the #6 singles match.
Otremba and Steffen also won their #3 doubles match. Crown earned the 4-3 victory, the first team win of the season. The Crown women fell to St. Norbert 7-0 with Doyle and Helser battling it out inn the #2 doubles match, falling 7-5.
For the Crown men
David Comings won both of his #1 singles matches against WestConn and St. Norbert.
Gavin Leuthold and
Matt Comings combined to win their #2 doubles match against the Wolves. The Polars fell 5-2 to WestConn and fell 6-1 to St. Norbert.
The Polars women's tennis team returns to action this Thursday, March 20th at 8am (CST) as they take on New Paltz. The Polars men will return to action on Friday, March 21st at 4pm (CST).
