St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Polars men's basketball team faced off with UM-Morris on Wednesday and fell by a score of 88-82.
Both teams knocked down a couple of threes to start the game, but the Cougars were able to pull out in front 16-8 with 13:06 to go in the first half. With 5:46 to go in the half Crown cut into the Morris lead and after two
Tyrus Buckner free throws the Cougars led 30-29. An 11-5 run to end the half favored UM-Morris and the Cougars led at the break 41-34.
The largest lead of the evening came after a basket from the block and Morris led by thirteen points with 18 minutes to play. The Polars chipped away at the large deficit and drew to within 2 points with under 2 minutes to play. After a few missed buckets from Crown at the end the Cougars came out on top.
Parker Behne totaled 25 points going 9-14 from the field and 5-6 from three point range. Buckner totaled 21 points and 6 rebounds.
John Grigsby led with 8 rebounds.
Micah Ladd totaled 7 assists.
Crown falls to 11-9 on the season and 4-5 in UMAC and play will return home to face North Central on Saturday, February 8th at 1pm.
