Dundas, Minn. - The Polars softball team faced off with the Carleton Knights on Friday and fell by a score of 9-1.
After a leadoff single from
Emmy Romportl the Polars were able to score the first run of the game in the top of the 1st inning with an RBI walk from
Sydney Gardner. A five run second inning from the Knights gave Carleton the 5-1 lead off of 5 hits in the inning. The Knights tacked on four more runs across the 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings and the Polars fell due to the 8 run rule.
Romportl and
Katie Vaughan both tallied one hit in the contest. As a team the Polars totaled 4 walks.
Emmy Romportl pitched 4 innings, struck out two batters, and allowed 5 earned runs.
Crown falls to 0-3 on the season and will next take on Augsburg in a doubleheader on the road Friday, March 7th with the first game starting at 5:30pm.
