St. Bonifacius, Minn. - The Polars women's basketball team hosted Saint Mary's on Wednesday night, losing by a score of 36-80.
It was all Cardinals from the jump as they took a 21-6 lead after the first quarter. They held the Polars to under ten points in each of the first two quarters as they led 39-15 at halftime. The Polars were competitive in the fourth quarter as their defense gave up just 15 points, but this game was well out of reach as the Polars lose 36-80.
Avery Youngblood caught fire in the fourth quarter, knocking down three straight three pointers. She finished the game as the leading scorer with 11.
Brayli Reimer finished with 8 points and four rebounds. Mogan Bednarek was steady off the bench playing 23 minutes and scoring four points with seven rebounds. Crown was able to see more young talent play as every player off the bench played.
The Polars travel to Duluth for their next game to play the College of St. Scholastica on Saturday, November 22 at 3:00pm.
