Box Score St. Bonifacius, MN - Eagles Too Much for Polars.
It was a quick turnaround for the Crown volleyball squad, coming off a tightly contested match last night in downtown Minneapolis against North Central. Less than 24 hours later, the Polars faced the conference's top team, the University of Northwestern Eagles. The Eagles jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, catching the Polars off guard with their fast-paced attack. Late in the opening set, Brooke Rummel provided a spark for Crown with a pair of aces and several strong serves to keep the Polars within striking distance. Despite the boost, Northwestern's balanced offense and consistent pressure proved too much. The new-look Eagles, fresh off a deep tournament run last season, showed no signs of slowing down as they controlled the match from start to finish.
Crown will now get a short break before returning to action next Wednesday, when Bethany Lutheran comes to town.
