Storm Lake, IA - Volleyball drops match to Buena Vista University.
The Crown College Polars volleyball team traveled south to Iowa on Friday night for a non-conference showdown against Buena Vista University. The match up served as a break from Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play, and a brief pause from classes as it landed during the team's fall break. The first set was competitive early, with both teams trading points, but Buena Vista pulled away with an 8-1 run to close it out, taking the set 25-16. The Beavers carried that momentum into the next two sets, maintaining control and securing the victory. Despite the loss, experience led the way for the Polars. Alyssa Heagney delivered a well-rounded performance with 4 kills, 9 digs, and a block. Ari Klein contributed 10 digs in the back row to help anchor the defense.
Crown will now return to conference action, hosting the Yellow Jackets at home on Friday night.
