Ashland, WI – The Polars women's basketball team faced off with Northland College on the road on Wednesday evening and came out on top 83-37.
Crown jumped out to an early 11-2 lead with four different Polars players getting on the scoreboard earning four steals in the first four minutes. The Polars did not stop there as they continued to put points on the board and took a 20-3 lead into the end of the first quarter. The second quarter saw Crown find more offense with a twenty-nine point quarter and rolled into halftime ahead 49-21. From that point forward Crown held their lead and started conference play with a victory.
Isabelle Sager had an impressive 13 minutes on the floor going 7-10 from the field scoring 14 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. Brekyn Hanson went 6-10 from the field and scred 14 points. Kaleigh Glasgow scored 11 points. Twelve players saw the floor for Crown and all twelve of them scored in the contest. The Polars tallied 32 points off of turnovers and an excellent bench effort produced 45 points. As a team the Polars shot just over 46%.
The Polars move to 2-10 on the season and 1-0 in UMAC play and will next return home to take on Martin Luther College on Saturday, January 11th at 4:45pm.
