Ashland, WI – The Polars men's basketball team faced off with Northland College on the road on Wednesday evening and came out on top 85-56.
The first five minutes of the contest were back and forth as both teams were tied with 9 points. Northland took a 22-19 lead with 7:43 to go. The final seconds of the first half saw Anthony Knight drive the lane and score to take a 30-28 lead going into the break.
The Polars came to play in the second half as they went on an 11-4 run to open the half. The momentum stayed in Crown's favor for the entirety of the second half as the Polars stretched their lead to 28 points with under seven minutes to play. The Polars held off the Lumberjacks and finished on top by a score of 85-56.
Tyrus Buckner led the scoring with 21 points and led the rebounding with 9 boards. John Grigsby, Carter Behne, and Anthony Knight all had double-digit points. Grigsby totaled 4 blocks in the contest.
Crown moves to 8-4 on the season and 1-0 in UMAC play and will next return home Saturday, January 11th to take on Martin Luther at 3pm.
