St. Bonifacius, Minn. - The Polars women's basketball team faced off with the University of Northwestern St. Paul on Saturday and fell by a score of 65-50.
The first quarter Crown came to play outscoring the Eagles 13-8 and four different Polars scored the basketball including three made shots from
Brayli Reimer.
Brekyn Hanson also knocked down an early three-point basket. The second quarter saw the Eagles tie the score at 19-19 and then take the lead with 5:23 to go in the quarter.
Isabelle Sager tallied 8 points in the quarter but, Northwestern stretched the lead to five points as the Eagles led going into halftime by a score of 30-25.
Both teams were able to score 12 points in the third quarter with Braylie Reimer and
Kendall Clark combining for ten of those points. Northwestern stretched the lead early in the 4
th quarter and did not look back as the Polars dropped the game 65-50.
Brayli Reimer led the Crown offense with 17 points.
Isabelle Sager followed close behind with 16 points and also added 10 rebounds.
Jacee Glasgow added 8 rebounds. As a team Crown shot 31.3% from the field going 21-67 and 16.7% from three point range going 3-18.
Crown moves to 2-15 on the season and 1-5 in UMAC play. The Polars return home next Wednesday, January 29th to take on UW-Superior at 7:15pm.
