Menomonie, WI - The Polars volleyball team took on UW-Stout on Wednesday night and dropped the contest three sets to none.
After an exciting weekend for the Crown women they hit the road for a mid-week contest. The first set started in favor of UW-Stout with the Polars falling behind 16-1. Crown was able to muster up a few more points on kills from
Emma Bottelberghe but ultimately dropped the first set 25-8. After a three point run Crown cut into the Stout lead in the second set 9-6. From then on Stout shut the door and closed out the three sets.Â
Bottelberghe notched 5 kills to lead the Polars offensive efforts and combination of
Alyssa Heagney and
Madilyn Smith combined for 4 kills. Defensively the libero
Ellie Fuller racked up 13 digs on the evening. Heagney and
Taylor Schafer each earned a service ace.
Crown falls to 4-2 on the season and will next return home for a homecoming match with Buena Vista on Friday, September 20th at 7pm.
