St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Crown College football team was selected to finish tied for fourth in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) in 2024, as the conference revealed its preseason coaches poll in an announcement Wednesday.
The Polars earned 10 points in the poll of UMAC coaches nine points behind the Greenville University Panthers. The poll is voted on by all the head coaches in the conference. Last season the Polars finished 1-8 with a conference record of 1-4 which was good for fifth place in the conference.
Offensively the Polars return a few key members of the offensive line with the likes of senior
Elisha Green and senior
Dominic Tii. Green was 2nd Team All-UMAC last season.
Brock Knick returns as the Polars longest field goal record holder kicker, as he sent a 42 yarder through the uprights in 2023. Defensively the Polars return three key members of their defense in
Rudy Criner,
Gabe Banks, and
Logan Disabella. Criner was named 1st Team All-UMAC last season and Banks was named 2nd Team All-UMAC last season.
The Polars will start their season with a home non-conference matchup with Hamline at 6pm on Saturday, September 7th.
