St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Crown College men's soccer team was selected to finish fourth in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) in 2024, as the conference revealed its preseason coaches poll in an announcement Monday.
The Polars earned 30 points in the poll of UMAC coaches just three points behind the University of Northwestern St. Paul . The poll is voted on by all the head coaches in the conference. Last season the Polars finished 10-10-4 with a conference record of 6-6-2 just narrowly missing the UMAC postseason tournament as they finished 5th. Crown returns 21 players and 10 starters to the pitch from their 2023 roster.
Serni Batalla returns to anchor the defense as he finished the 2023 campaign with 4 goals and 3 assists which earned him First Team All-UMAC honors.
Joaquin Silva and
Ashton Hosler both return for the Polars after being the joint top goal scorers for the team last season and both earning Second Team All-UMAC.
The Polars will head on the road to UW-River Falls this Friday, September 30th for their first contest of the season at 5pm.
