Whitewater, WI - The Polars battled with the UW-Whitewater Warhawks on Friday in the NCAA Regional and fell 9-2.
The Warhawks scored 5 runs in the bottom half of the first inning to take the lead. Crown answered in the top of the 3rd inning after a double from
Matthew Shaugabay and a sacrifice fly from
Drew Girtz. Whitewater answered with two runs of their own and took the 7-1 lead. The Polars scored one more run in the 5th after a leadoff single from Shuagabay and another sacrifice fly this time from
Mason Brock.Â
UW-Whitewater added two more and took the 9-2 victory.
Tristan Camp started on the mound and pitched 5 innings.
Jefferson Barmoy came in and pitched 3 innings only allowing 2 hits and no earned runs.
Howie Hatton and Shaugabay both had two hits on the day.
Ethan Habetler and
Drew Girtz had hits on the day.
The Polars will next face off with the loser of Centre College and California Lutheran tomorrow Saturday, May 18th at 11am in an elimination game.
