Whitewater, WI - The Polars baseball team battled with Centre College on Saturday and fell by a score of 16-5.
The Colonels jumped out in front early with 3 runs in the top half of the first inning.
Jacob Van Dam came in to pitch in relief and ended the inning. Hits from
Mason Brock,
Howie Hatton, and
Rhys Dewick drove in 3 runs to tie the game up at 3-3. The Colonels took the lead back in the 6th inning with three runs to make the score 6-3. A two run triple from
Howie Hatton drove in two runs as Crown cut the lead to 6-5.Â
From there on Centre extended the lead in the 8th inning and the 9th inning as Crown fell 16-5. Hatton and Brock both totaled 3 hits on the day. Dewick also had 2 RBI's.Â
The Polars finish the season 21-22 and reached the NCAA Regional for the 2nd time in school history.
