Superior, WI - The Polars softball team faced off with UW-Superior on Saturday and fell by scores of 10-2 and 16-3.
Sydney Gardner started the game off with a bang after hitting a 2 run home run over the center field fence. From there on out it was all Yellowjackets as the Polars mustered 2 hits both from
Emmy Romportl as UW-Superior totaled 10 runs across the next four innings of play. Romportl pitched and earned the loss in game one.
Game two saw Wisconsin-Superior push across 13 runs in the first two innings. Crown scored three of their own in the 3rd inning but eventually fell by a score of 16-3.
Katie Vaughan led the offense in the second contest with 2 hits and 1 RBI. Romportl,
Abbey Underdahl, and
Kylei Abreo earned hits in the contest.
The Polars fall to 5-17 on the season and 3-3 in UMAC play and will return home on Monday with the first game of a three game series against UM-Morris at 4pm.
