Superior, WI - The Polars Softball team battled with the UW-Superior Yellowjackets in the first game of a three game series on Friday and fell 8-0.
Superior struck first with 2 runs in the bottom of the second inning. Crown managed to earn a hit in three of the first 4 innings but could not push a run across. The Yellowjackets were able to put together a 4 run 5th inning and gather a few more to take home the win in 6 innings of play.
The first five Polars in the batting order all gathered one hit each each.
Emmy Romportl started in the circle and pitched 5 innings allowing 7 hits and 6 earned runs and took the loss.
Abbey Underdahl pitched the last two thirds of the 6th inning.
Crown falls to 5-15 on the season and will face off with UW-Superior in a doubleheader tomorrow starting at 11am.
