St. Bonifacius, MN - The Polars Baseball team faced off with the UW-Superior Yellowjackets on Friday and fell by a score of 10-0.
The Yellowjackets earned the first run of the contest in the top of the first inning after an error and a few hits. After two scoreless innings of play UW-Superior pushed across 8 runs across the 4th, 5th, and 6th innings. The bottom of the 5th inning Crown was able to get two runners on base but couldn't move them around to score. The same would go for the bottom of the 7th inning. Crown totaled 4 hits on the day and fell after 9 innings of play 10-0.
Ashton Long totaled 2 base knocks on 4 at bats.
Howie Hatton and
Tyler Bloom each added one hit.
Tristan Camp started on the rubber for Crown and took the loss after 3.2 innings pitched and 4 earned runs. Camp totaled 5 strikeouts.
Payton Clevenger,
Noah Neal, and
Caleb Landry all took the hill to close out the contest.
The Polars fall to 4-10 on the season and 2-1 in UMAC play as they return home tomorrow for a doubleheader against the Yellowjackets starting at 2pm.
