Morris, MN – The Polars Baseball team defeated the Minnesota Morris Cougars on Tuesday to complete the UMAC series sweep.
 
After the Polars were set down in order to start the contest the Cougars struck first as they scored one run following a bunt, error, and a few groundouts. Crown quickly answered back with hits from 
Ashton Long, 
Matthew Shaugabay, 
Ethan Habetler, 
Drew Girtz, and 
Mason Brock to take a 4-1 lead. The Polars tacked on one more run in the 3
rd inning to make it 5-1.
 
The Crown offense continued to put runners on and after an RBI single from Brock, Hatton drove him in with a 2-run home run to stretch the lead to 8-1. A one run 5
th and three run 6
th gave the Polars their 12-1 lead and victory.
 
Aidan Volk Specht pitched a complete game as he managed to scatter 6 hits across 7 innings of work and added 10 strikeouts on the mound.  Shaugabay led the Polars offense going 3-4 with 3 RBI's. Brock added to his RBI total with 4 on the day. 
 
The Polars move to 12-15 on the season and 10-5 in UMAC play. The next contest for the Polars is on the road tomorrow against Gustavus before a crucial 3 game series with the Knights of Martin Luther College on the road.
