Ashland, WI - The Polars baseball team defeated Northland on Saturday in two contests by scores of 13-1 and 15-2.
Crown led off the scoring in game one with two runs in the 2nd inning after a couple of hits and a sacrifice fly from 
Drew Girtz and a single from 
Mason Brock. A four run 5ht inning was capped with hits from 
Tyler Bloom and 
Matthew Shaugabay. The Polars took that 6 run lead and added 7 more run after hits from Girtz, and a three run home run from 
Bryan Gerbers. 
Tristan Camp was dealing on the mound as he pitched a complete game only allowing 3 hits while totaling 7 strikeouts. Brock and Gerbers led the offense as Brock went 4-4 and Gerbers went 3-4 with 4 RBI's. 
Tyler Olson and Shaugabay both earned multi-hit efforts.
Game two saw the Polars score in every inning except the first inning. Crown batted around 6 times on route to their 15-2 victory. 
Howie Hatton and 
Tyler Olson led the offense in game two with 3 hits each. Olson totaled 4 RBI's. Bloom and Girtz had 3 RBI's each. 
Caleb Yowell earned a 2 hit effort as well. 
Ryan Vondracek had a monster outing on the mound as he pitched a complete game and struck out 12 Northland batters.
Crown moves to 10-15 on the season and  8-5 in UMAC play. They will take on Northland College once again tomorrow in game three the final game of the series at 12pm.
