Jacksonville, FL - The Polars softball team battled with Trinity Baptist in Florida on Friday and fell by scores of 9-4 and 13-4.
The first game of the day saw Crown score one run on an
Abbey Underdahl single scoring
Emmy Romportl who led off with a single. A two run home run from Trinity Baptist was the first lead change as the score set at 2-1. A few errors and a few walks gave the Polars the 4-2 lead until the score was matched at 4-4 heading into the 4th inning. A five run 5th inning from Trinity Baptist spelled trouble as the Polars lost 9-4.
Sydney Gardner went 2-2 with a double and a walk to lead the Crown offense. Romportl ptiched 5 innings of the first contest.
Game two saw
Katie Vaughan hit a solo home run to give Crown the lead before the Eagles scored 5 unanswered runs. A two run home run from Vaughan in the 3rd inning spelled the scoreless inning and a single from
Abbie Carroll drove in Gardner as the Eagles were out in front 6-4. Seven combined runs from Trinity Baptist spelled trouble for the Polars as Crown fell 13-4 in 5 innings of play.Â
Vaughan went 2-2 with two home runs and 3 RBI's. The Polars fall to 5-25 on the season and will next head to UW-Stout for a non-conference bout on Wednesday, April 25th.
