Northfield, MN - The Polars Baseball team battled with St. Olaf on Wednesday and fell by a score of 18-4.
St. Olaf got out in front early as they scored 8 unanswered runs through two innings of play. Hits from
Howie Hatton and
Tyler Bloom scored the Polars first run of the day. The Oles extended their lead to 9-1 in the bottom half of the 3rd inning. Crown pushed across a few more runs with one in the 5th on a Hatton single, one in the 6th on a wild pitch, and one in 7th off a
Rhys Dewick home run. The final score favored St. Olaf 18-4.
21 different Polars played in the contest with 9 different pitchers taking the rubber. Hatton went 2-3 to lead the offense.
Matthew Shaugabay went 1-1 with a walk. Crown totaledd 7 hits and allowed 18.
The Polars fall to 6-12 on the season and will return home to Missile Park this Friday, April 12th to open the three game series with Bethany Lutheran at 3pm.
