Ankeny, IA - The Polars Women's Basketball team faced off with the Faith Baptist Eagles on Tuesday and came out on top 59-42.
Crown took an early 8-2 lead after a few steals and three point buckets from
McKenzie Latzke and
Mya Morris. The Polars were able to extend their lead up to nine points at the end of the first quarter as the score sat at 19-10. The Eagles answered back early in the second quarter as Faith Baptist was able to trim the lead to just one point with 2:07 to play. The half ended with Crown out in front 30-26.
The Polars held the slim lead throughout the third quarter up by five at the end of the quarter. The fourth quarter was all Crown as the Polars outscored the Eagles down the stretch 19-7 on their way to their third win of the season.
Mya Morris led the scoring for Crown with 15 points and she also totaled 6 steals.
Brayli Reimer followed close behind with 13 points of her own.
Isabelle Sager finished with 12 rebounds and Latzke grabbed 10 of her own.
The Polars move to 3-18 on the season and will return home for senior day this Friday, February 9th for a 5:30pm game against Northland College.
