New Ulm, MN - Polars Women's Basketball competed in their second game of the weekend on Saturday afternoon and fell just short of the victory against Martin Luther 51-60. Â
Coming off a tough Friday night against Bethany Lutheran, Coach Tusler and his team looked to rebound Saturday afternoon against the Knights. Scoring was hard to come by within the first half as the Knights took a one-point lead into the locker room at the half with a score of 25-24. After an even hard fought first three quarters the Knights were able to gain an eight point lead in the 4th quarter. The Polars inched right back into the contest after baskets from Brayli Reimer and Sydney Cotten with 2:29 to play Martin Luther led by just 3 points. Five missed shots down the stretch allowed Martin Luther to pull out in front as Crown fell 60-51.
Latzke continued her strong season this afternoon finishing with 17 points and 8 rebounds in the contest. Newcomer Brayli Reimer provided 16 points and 3 rebounds off of the bench. Sydney Cotten grabbed 7 rebounds to lead the Polars. Crown just shot 31% from the field in the game.
Women's Basketball will travel to Iowa for their next matchup against Faith Baptist Bible College on February 6th. The Polars Fall to 1-9 in the UMAC and 2-18 overall on the 2023-24 season. Â
