Roseville, MN – The Men's Basketball team squared up in a must win game against Northwestern on Saturday afternoon. In a back-and-forth contest, the Eagles ultimately pulled away and earned a 85-75 win over the Polars.
Tyrus Buckner started right where he left off in last night's game with 10 points in the first half of play. Crown held an early 15-11 lead with 13:17 to play in the half. The lead switched 3 times and ended back with Northwestern at the half as the score read 35-33 in Northwestern's favor. Tristan Youngblood provided 6 points off the bench for the Polars in the first half while going 2-5 from beyond the 3-point line.
The second half saw the Eagles stay out in front for the majority of the half. Crown fought back to within 6 points but ultimately fell 85-75. The shooting struggles continued for Crown throughout this matchup as they finished shooting 39% from the field and 25% from beyond the 3-point line.
Buckner finished with 27 points and 9 rebounds to lead the way for the Polars. Micah Ladd had a strong performance with 13 points and 6 assists. Cade Carroll finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds for Crown. Carter Behne added 11 points off the bench for the Polars.
Crown finishes the regular season 15-10 and 7-7 in UMAC play.
