St. Bonifacius, MN - Crown played host to the UMAC leading UW-Superior Yellowjackets on Saturday February 10th and fell by a final score of 71-53.
Elli Hemann provided a quick spark off the bench for the Polars with a quick 6 points and 4 rebounds in the first quarter. Crown was able to even up the score at 9-9 with 3 minutes to play in the first. Both teams scored 15 points within the second quarter as the Yellowjackets took a 31-26 lead into halftime. The Yellowjackets went on an early scoring run and pulled away as they outscored the Polars 40-27 within the second half to claim the victory.
Mya Morris led the scoring for the Polars as she finished with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Sydney Cotten Finished with 10 Points and 3 rebounds. Isabelle Sager added 8 points and 2 rebounds of her in the contest. As a team Crown shot 43.1% going 22-51 from the field and 25% going 5-20 from three point range.
Crown falls to 4-19 overall on the season and 2-10 in UMAC play. They will be back in action against North Central University on Friday, February 16th on the road at 5:30pm.
