New Ulm, Minn. - The Polars volleyball team took on Martin Luther on Saturday and fell in three sets 3-0.
The Knights jumped out in front early in the first set but the Polars climbed right back into it to tie the score at 13-13. Martin Luther closed the set in a 12-4 run and the Knights took set one. The second set was all Martin Luther as Crown fell behind early. The Knights took the second set 25-11. A late 7 point run after an early deficit in the third set gave Crown the advantage 25-24. Three straight points from the Knights and Crown fell 27-25.
Emma Bottelberghe led the defensive effort with 13 digs.
Alyssa Heagney led the Polars offensive efforts with 6 kills.
Brooke Rummel tallied 14 assists.
Crown falls to 6-12 on the season and 1-9 in UMAC play and will next return home for a Friday, November 1st match with Northland at 7pm.
