Morris, Minn.- Polars volleyball faced off against the University of Minnesota-Morris on Tuesday evening and fell in three sets 3-0.
The Polars played the first set close tying the match up at 9-9, then Morris began to gain momentum and rattled off five straight points. Crown battled back again closing the score to 16-15 only trailing the Cougars by one, but Morris ended up taking the first set 25-17. Morris took control in set number two as well, jumping out to a 12-3 lead. From there on out in the second set the Cougars maintained the lead and Crown dropped the second set 25-12.
In the third set the Polars jumped out in front gaining a 16-14 lead over the Cougars. The two teams traded points but eventually Morris was able to get the edge over the Polars as the Cougars took the third set 25-22 and ended the contest in three sets.
Emma Bottelberghe led the Polars with five kills on the night and
Brooke Rummel added 12 assists.
Taylor Schafer totaled five blocks for the Polars and
Ellie Fuller finished her night with 18 digs.
The Polars fall to 6-10 on the season and 1-7 in conference play, Crown's next matchup will be on the road against Bethany Lutheran College this Friday, October 25th at 7:00 PM.
