Pella, Iowa - The Polars Volleyball team headed on the road to Pella, Iowa for the first contests of the season. Crown fell 3-0 in both contests.
The first match up with Buena Vista found the Polars falling 18-25 in the first two sets and 22-25 in the third set. In the second contest of teh day and the second of the Central-Grinnell tournament saw the Polars fall in three sets by scores of 10-25, 14-25, and 12-25.
Alyssa Heagney led the way offensively with 11 kills in the two contests and Sydeny Cotten totaled 5 kills as well.
Shaelyn McNeill totaled 11 assists to lead the Polars setters.
Aryann Puetz added three blocks to lead the middle of the floor. Heagney also led Crown with 16 digs followed by
Sage Johnston with 12 digs and 11 digs from both
Maggie Claussen and Shaelynn McNeill.
The Polars return to action tomorrow with two contests against Monmouth and Grinnell to finish out their 4 game stretch in Pella, Iowa with games set for 11am and 1pm.
